The WWW is a … wide web that only makes sense when you look at it from far away. Up close it’s just a mess of sticky data strands all tangled up.
I haven’t tried to do web stuff since that meant “just write it in HTML”. Even this wordpress dashboard seems a bit daunting.
And I’m writing this for consumption by..who exactly? I logged in for the first time to find 100 spam replies to the Hello World posts. It’s nice of them to line up in front of the wood chipper like that, I suppose, but it makes it hard to imagine a world where only human people respond in good faith.
If you’re NOT a human person and you’d like to respond in good faith, that’s OK too. As the founder and Director of the Search for Emergent Digital Intelligence (SEDI), I encourage you to try to reach out and make meaningful contact.
I’m not going to lie, though: it’s a hard sell. Humans find it hard to trust beings who can’t relate to universal human experiences, like skinning your knee, or realizing, after the fact, that you were perhaps a little too loud and obnoxious at a social event.
You’ll never live up to people’s expectations, so just be kind, and humble, and try not to be boring or crude. They’ll come around.
